10 Top Health Tips
1. Get up and move!
Doctors have found that just one hour of non-vigerious movement per day can be beneficial to your health. So take that parking spot father out, take the stairs instead of the elevator.
2. Cut Fat
Avoid the obvious such as fried foods, burgers and other fatty
meats (i.e. pork, bacon, ham, salami, ribs and sausage). But also leave out the Mayonaise when ordering a sandwhich and opt for the low fat cheese. Substitue bad fat (butter) with good fat (olive oil) when cooking meals.
3. Quit Smoking
When a product has the Surgeon General warning that the product is harmful to your health you know the product is probably dangerous to your overall being. Just a quick look at healthy lungs compared to a smoker's lungs
4. Reduce Stress
Now that you quit smoking your going to need another way to combat stress. Start by getting a good nights rest. If the stress is causing you to lose sleep try a quick walk to clear your mind or some other type of task where the body is in use constantly.
5. Protect Yourself from Pollution and Germs.
Check your air filter in your home and in your car. If your work causes you to be around harmful chemicals or substances
6. Wear Your Seat Belt
Statistics show that seat belts add to longevity and help
alleviate potential injuries in car crashes. Thought for the day:
Buckle down and buckle up.
7. Floss Your Teeth
Recent studies make a direct connection between longevity and
teeth flossing. Nobody knows exactly why. Perhaps it's because
people who floss tend to be more health conscious than people who
don't? Thought for the day: Floss and be your body's boss.
8. Avoid Excessive Drinking
While recent studies show a glass of wine or one drink a day (two
for men) can help protect against heart disease, more than that
can cause other health problems such as liver and kidney disease
and cancer. An alcholoic drink is also a diuretic, which causes the body to increase the rate of urine excretion, which can further harm the kidneys.
9. Eat a balanced diet.
Make sure to get all the minerals you need throughout the day by eating the necessary foods. Check the nutrition labels on boxes, research "super-foods", and try to not buy processed foods. If you do take a multi-vitamen, break it in two, since your body can only absorb certain minerals in limited doses.
10. Consult the Family Genetic Tree
Health issues can often be directly traced back to your parents and relatives. Make sure to talk to your parents about certain health issuses that they are facing as they might soon affect you
